Sasta Outdoor Country Clothing
Sasta Outdoor Country Clothing - UK Stockists
We are delighted to be one of the few UK sellers of Sasta outdoor and hunting clothing. Sasta was founded in 1969 by Urpo Saastamoinen a lover of the great outdoors as well as a hunter.
Urpo Saastamoinen could not find outdoor clothing that kept him warm dry and comfortable, so he created his own brand: Sasta
In 2016 Sasta is still run by the same family and they continue to make country clothing of the highest quality. Sasta clothing ensures that you can enjoy the great outdoors in all weathers. Made for shooting, stalking, fishing or just out for a dog walk.
Outdoor expertise with 45 years of experience.
Sasta's reputation is based on a simple notion – that their products are known to be strong, while still being highly technical. They don't count grams, but rather make products that will perform in even the harshest weather that nature can throw at you. Their expertise starts where the marked roads and easy paths end - for the conditions where you need to trust your equipment 100%.
When properly cared for, Sasta products retain their special properties and stay in good condition for a long time. Attend to your clothing regularly and follow the washing instructions carefully in order to ensure that the materials retain their special characteristics and your clothes can withstand hard use and demanding conditions year after year.
Sasta clothing is easy to care for and can be wet-cleaned (machine-wash at 30 °C or 40 °C). Follow the washing instructions for each garment carefully.
The products should be washed with a mild detergent, inside out and separately from other washing. Drum-drying and fast spinning are not recommended, as they could damage the materials. After washing, turn the products right-side out, smooth them, and hang them to dry on a hanger or a clothesline.
Do not use fabric-softener when washing Gore-Tex®, Windstopper®, Polartec®, or Sasta EXP products, as it blocks the microscopic pores in the membrane or fabric and decreases the elasticity of the materials. Do not use bleach, either.
Stains can be removed with a stain-remover. We recommend testing the stain-remover on the inside of the product first, to make sure it can't damage the surface material. After removing the stain, wash the garment per its washing instructions.
Most Sasta surface fabrics have been impregnated to make them repel dirt and water. If the effect has deteriorated or been lost in use and during washes, the garment can be re-impregnated. Impregnants are sold in sports and camping stores, where you can also ask for advice on choosing the right impregnant.
Do not sew badges or similar on your Gore-Tex® or Sasta EXP clothing. The stitches will pierce the waterproof membrane.
GORE-TEX® membrane is the core of GORE-TEX® products. It keeps the rain and wind at bay while letting the moisture from the body out. W. L. Gore & Associates has developed a variety of GORE-TEX® membranes, for a wide range of purposes. With the optimal membrane for every activity, GORE-TEX® products keep you dry and comfortable.
Protects you in any weather and keeps external moisture out. GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY.
Prevents the chilling effect of the wind, keeping your skin warm.
Lets the moisture from your body out, thus controlling overheating of the body.
Also helps you maintain your performance and concentration abilities.
Traditional hunting garments often have a Z-Liner construction. A GORE-TEX® membrane laminated to a light fabric forms a Z-Liner lining between the surface material and the inner lining, in both jackets and trousers.
GORE-TEX® LTD Liner and GORE-TEX® Micro Liner
The GORE-TEX® membrane is laminated to the mesh or micro lining of the garment. The surface material of the jacket or trousers is separate from this lining.
Two-layer GORE-TEX® material is excellently suited to most outdoor activities. The GORE-TEX® membrane has been laminated to the surface material. A separate lining improves the comfort and versatility of the garment.
GORE-TEX® 3-Layer Pro
GORE-TEX® 3-Layer Pro is the optimal material for extreme conditions. The three-layer structure has an effective GORE-TEX® membrane, joined to both the surface material and the heavy-duty inner lining. Since the various layers cannot rub against each other, the wear-resistance of the garment is excellent. The products are light and comfortable.
Windstopper® products offer maximum breathability and are completely windproof, enabling you to give a top performance even during extreme physical exertion.
Completely windproof structure
Protects your body's micro-climate from the chilling effects of the wind.
Dispels the moisture produced by the body, thus preventing overheating and keeping moisture from collecting inside the garment.
GORE® OPTIFADE® Concealment
GORE® OPTIFADE® Concealment is the first scientifically developed concealment method based on the vision of animals. Traditional approaches to deceiving game animals include the use of scents and sounds, and imitation of things the prey is familiar with. GORE® OPTIFADE® Concealment is the first concealment method based on animal vision instead of human vision.
A human dressed in garments with photographic leaf and twig patterns is easy for an animal to detect as an even grey mass. A human wearing GORE® OPTIFADE® Concealment garments is difficult for animals to detect, and the prey won't recognise the hunter as a threat. The manufacturer calls this 'the Science of Nothing'.
Polartec® Power Stretch® Pro™
Elastic in four directions, Polartec® Power Stretch® Pro™ material is a closely fitting resilient knitted fabric that keeps your skin dry and warm. The outer shell of the material (polyester) is windproof, breathable, and resistant to rubbing. The inner surface (brushed polyester) transfers the moisture away from the skin, keeping you dry and comfortable. The material can be used for both under-layer and intermediate-layer garments.
Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft
Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft is a fabric with long fluff. It is warm, light, and very breathable, and it takes little room when folded. Polartec® Thermal Pro® High Loft is the most technically advanced material from Polartec® for demanding conditions in which the weight and thermal insulation capacity of the garment are especially important.
BuzzX® is a revolutionary surface treatment for fabrics, designed to provide long-lasting and effective protection against insects. A result of years of research and testing, BuzzX® provides odourless and colourless protection against insects for the expected lifetime of the product, up to 50 washes. Re-treatment is not required. Do not dry-clean. BuzzX® garments are tested to ensure high quality. The OEKO-Tex® 100 standard guarantees the safety of the products. BuzzX® has been tested in accordance with the WHO's protocol and manufactured to meet NATO standards.
Ventile® is a densely woven, very breathable and durable fabric from 100% cotton. Ventile® is not coated or laminated. Instead, the cotton fibres swell when wet, making the fabric tight and water-repellent. Thus the fabric provides excellent protection against wind, rain, snow, and cold.
Wool is a breathable material with excellent thermal insulation properties. It absorbs and transfers moisture effectively, without ever feeling wet. It is the only fibre that keeps you warm even when it is wet. Wool has natural water- and dirt-repelling properties, and it is easy to keep clean by airing.
Thinsulate™ is a thin and light cotton wool insulant with a very high thermal value. It retains its qualities also when damp.
Cotton is a soft, breathable material that absorbs moisture extremely well. Organic cotton is produced without harmful fertilisers, with minimal effect on the environment.
Fabrics with bamboo fibre are pleasant and soft, with natural antibacterial properties. Bamboo fibres transfer moisture effectively, keeping you cool and comfortable. The bamboo plant grows quickly and does not require artificial fertilisers or pesticides. Bamboo fibres are viscose fibres produced from bamboo pulp.
