Siena Brisa Panama
Genuine hand woven in Ecuador
Paja Torquilla Panama Hat in the Brisa weave
Navy Blue Ribbon
Siena Brisa Genuine Panama Hat
The hat material is hand woven using the traditional fibres from the palm Paja Torquilla that grows in Ecuador. The hat's style was made famous during the building of the Panama Canal where it was worn to protect against the strong sun. The hat style took its name from Panama as a result, though actually it is an Ecuadorian design, materials and the material weaving done by hand by Ecuadorian craftspeople. This hat has the Brisa weave which has the apearance of diamond square shaped crosses in the weave. This weave makes the hat lighter than some as it uses less of the palm straw to make.
The hats are woven and then sent to Olney where they are finished into a perfect summer hat. The final product with the Navy Ribbon and fine inner band make this a stylish hat to keep a cool head in the hot sun.
